Pro League matchday 25: can KVM and Cercle start winning again?

04 February 2025

Matchday 25 brings the heat to the Belgian Pro League once more, with plenty of excitement across the country. KVM and Cercle need victories, but how likely are they to get them against their respective opponents on the weekend of 7-9 February? Let’s take a quick look at the matchups before us and see if we can make some smart predictions.

KV Mechelen vs KAA Gent

07/02 8.45 p.m.

Most likely to win: KV Mechelen

KV Mechelen didn’t manage to win last weekend, so it’ll be all the more motivated now. KAA Gent has been inconsistent for much of the season. Our sponsored team can beat the Buffalos.

Club Brugge vs OH Leuven

08/02 4 p.m.

Most likely to win: Club Brugge

Regardless of the outcome of this encounter, Club Brugge will remain in second place. OH Leuven has everything to gain, but we can’t see any other result than a Club Brugge home win.

Dender vs STVV

08/02 6.15 p.m.

Most likely to win: STVV

After its thorough thrashing last weekend, Dender will once more need to show that the JPL is where it belongs. STVV needs a victory more, as it’s in relegation danger: win for the visitors!

KRC Genk vs Cercle Brugge

08/02 8.45 p.m.

Most likely to win: KRC Genk

KRC Genk still reigns supreme, with an untouchable 54 points. It meets our sponsored team Cercle Brugge that’s on an uptick. Unfortunately though, the leader will be victorious here.

Anderlecht vs Antwerp

09/02 1.30 p.m.

Most likely to win: Anderlecht

In this weekend’s top game, Anderlecht meets Antwerp in a battle for fourth place. We’re considering home advantage to be the decisive factor here: win for Anderlecht.

KV Kortrijk vs Union

09/02 4 p.m.

Most likely to win: Union

KV Kortrijk is stuck in the relegation quagmire: no chance it’s getting out in its next game. To exacerbate things, it meets Union. The visitors are in spot 3, and are expected to win here.

Westerlo vs Standard

09/02 6.30 p.m.

Most likely to win: Westerlo

With just one place above the relegation zone, Westerlo will fight for a win. Standard, number 7 in the rankings, has shown anything but consistency this season. Win for the home team.

Beerschot vs Charleroi

09/02 7.15 p.m.

Most likely to win: Charleroi

Poor Beerschot: it’s in last place and trailing 6 points with its nearest competitor. Nothing will change its situation here, as Charleroi will show no mercy. Away win for the Carolos!
