This Friday evening, the 13th matchday of the JPL kicks off. Will it be lucky 13 for our sponsored teams KV Mechelen and Cercle Brugge? Let’s shine a light on what’s happening on our Belgian football pitches this weekend: that way you can place a smarter bet.
01/11 8.45 p.m.
Most likely to win: Westerlo
Number 8 meets number 7 here. Both have been performing commendably, but Westerlo has the experience to beat JPL newbie Dender.
02/11 4 p.m.
Most likely to win: Standard
Standard and STVV are 9th and 14th respectively, but just a single point separates them. We tip a victory for the Rouches to get rid of a direct competitor.
02/11 6.15 p.m.
Most likely to win: Club Brugge
OH Leuven is one of the 4 teams with 15 points: 3 more and it could jump to 5th place. Club Brugge will win to stay ahead of its challengers.
02/11 8.45 p.m.
Most likely to win: Union
KV Mechelen has enjoyed a nice campaign so far, settling on spot 4 after 12 games. Union isn’t doing great, but we could see it finding a second wind.
03/11 1.30 p.m.
Most likely to win: KRC Genk
This is the biggest game of the weekend: number 1 versus number 2! Count on Genk to keep the 3 points at home to underline its title ambitions!
03/11 4 p.m.
Most likely to win: Cercle Brugge
Cercle hasn’t played its best football, compared to last season. A necessary win against Charleroi could be all it needs to reinvent itself.
03/11 6.30 p.m.
Most likely to win: Anderlecht
Despite wobbly performances, Anderlecht has kept its eyes on a top 5 spot. KV Kortrijk, meanwhile, has had a hard time staying out of the relegation zone.
03/11 7.15 p.m.
Most likely to win: KAA Gent
Beerschot has done far too little to prove that it’s ready for the JPL. Number 5 KAA Gent won’t have any trouble against the unfortunate stragglers.
