The Champions League night of October 1 promises fireworks. Once again, a mix of heavyweight clashes, surprising newcomers, and some absolute top games. Here are the predictions.
Most likely to win: Copenhagen
In Baku, Qarabag hosts the Danish champion. Copenhagen has the necessary CL experience and therefore starts as the favorite, although Qarabag often outperforms itself at home.

A duel between the Belgian revelation and the English powerhouse. Union can count on a roaring home crowd, but the financial and sporting strength of Newcastle makes the English side the favorite.

Arsenal faces a familiar opponent at home: Olympiakos. The Greeks have often caused surprises in London in the past, but this Arsenal looks too strong.

Haaland and co. head to the French Riviera. Monaco boasts plenty of young talent, but against Pep Guardiola’s star ensemble, the Monegasques are clear underdogs.

A clash between the German vice-champion and the Dutch champion. Leverkusen has home advantage and the deeper squad, making them the favorites.
Most likely to win: Borussia Dortmund
Signal Iduna Park is always a fortress, and Bilbao will feel it. The Germans have the experience and quality to take this game.
Most likely to win: Barcelona
